Permalink >fuckyeahtattoos 277 NotesAs an architecture student, I’ve always been particularly interested in both Art Nouveau and Art Deco designs, both of which have frequently included ginkgo leaves. Aside from the architectural and design-related connection, ginkgo trees are also resistant to disease, fire, pollution, and radiation. These trees are, for lack of a more elegant word, incredible. Quite literally, they’re living fossils.
But most importantly, the design is based on something beautiful. The leaf I based my design on was given to me by my dad. He picked it off of a small ginkgo that we own at home.
I couldn’t be more happy with having this little ginkgo leaf as my first tattoo! I plan to keep it as a plain, simple outline.
